Miley Cyrus will ‘Wake’ up

HollywoodNews.com: Continuing her progression into more mature fare, Miley Cyrus is attached to star in Paramount Pictures-MTV Films thriller “Wake.”

Film is based on a trilogy of young-adult New York Times bestsellers by Lisa McMann which follow a 17-year old girl Janie and her paranormal ability to live in other people’s dreams.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the story.

“Wake” will be adapted by “Disturbia” co-writer Christopher Landon. Whether Cyrus makes “Wake” a reality hinges on Landon’s finished screenplay.

In “Wake” things turn for the worse after Janie goes from being spectator in other’s nightmares to participant. The follow-up novels “Fade” and “Gone” explore her further adventures with boyfriend Cabel into the twisted lives of their school teachers. Cyrus’ last two Disney films “Hannah Montana: The Movie” and “The Last Song” together grossed $230 million worldwide.
