Channing Tatum looks for love in sci-fi ‘Ion’

Hollywoodnews.com: Channing Tatum, Hollywood’s new leading hunk, is attached to headline Fox’s new sci-fi romantic epic “Ion.”

“Ion” arrives as an original spec script by Will Dunn which Ridley and Tony Scott are producing.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the story revealing that “Ion” centers around a man in search of his soul mate on various different Earths. Studio suits are using the word “Avatar” to describe the scope of the project.

Dunn’s script has been circling Hollywood over the last year, but “Avatar” greased the wheels for its sale.
Dunn is a British-L.A. transplant. He first caught the eye of the Scott brothers with his first screenplay “Children of the Gun.”

In the wake of “Avatar,” the Reporter cites a number of sci-fi features in the works, largely at Warner Brothers, including “All You Need is Kill” which Doug Liman might direct; “Mass Effect” based on the Electronic Arts-BioWare video game; futuristic story “Pacific Rim” which “Clash of the Titans” scribe Travis Beacham is adapting and the re-boot of “Logan’s Run.”
