“Eclipse” Fan-Made Art Exposed

By Tracy Rosenfield

HollywoodNews.com: At or before the announcement of each new “Twilight” movie, burgeoning artists everywhere develop beautiful pieces of artwork related to the film. Sure, there are photos and images that are manipulated (“manips”) to show, in most cases, an artist’s wishful thinking, but there are several other pieces in the form of video, drawing, Photoshop and more that truly represent the artist’s interpretation of the film.

These artists are such passionate fans of the films that they take to their computer or easel to create some of the most beautiful, unofficial pieces of artwork for others to enjoy.

Below are some of the more popular examples of fan made “Eclipse” art for your enjoyment:

Eclipse fan-made posters

1) Bella and the red ribbon: This is one of the more famous fan-made posters. When it first came out, fans couldn’t confirm if it was a Summit poster or not.

2) Cast member posters: These posters keep the general theme of the official “Eclipse” poster, but add imagery of the cast in the way they’d like to see it.

• Edward, Bella and Jacob #1

• Edward, Bella and Jacob #2

3) Complete alteration: Other fans make a completely new poster they believe best reflects the theme of the book in their vision.

• Edward and Bella

• Edward and Jacob

• Edward, Jacob, Bella, Victoria #1

• Edward, Jacob, Bella, Victoria #2

Eclipse fan made trailers

Fans all over the world create “Eclipse” trailers. Sometimes these videos use footage from old “Twilight” films and other times they can include footage from alternate movies.

Below is a sampling of fan made “Eclipse” videos:

• Fan made trailer #1*

• Fan made trailer #2*

• Fan made trailer #3*

*All “Twilight Saga” images are copyright of Summit Entertainment

In addition to posters and trailers, there are also fan made videos and images that aren’t necessarily specific to one movie. They generally represent a fan’s love for “The Twilight Saga”.

What do you think of fan made “Eclipse” art? Does it help get people excited for the film, or does it take away from the writer’s and director’s vision? Let us know in the comments.
