Robert Pattinson’s “Remember Me” now on sale on DVD

By Kim Palacios

HollywoodNews.com: On June 22nd, the 2010 film “Remember Me” was released on DVD. Starring Twilight’s Robert Pattinson and Lost’s Emilie de Ravin, the film is Pattinson’s first major release outside of Twilight franchise films.

In “Remember Me”, Pattinson plays Tyler, a complex young college student with seemingly opposing traits. He is at once a good citizen and a man who agrees to a vindictive prank; an ideal brother and a rebellious son; a loyal friend and a cautious lover; one who fears life but who lets no one define how he lives.

The coming-of-age story follows Tyler through a single summer, during which time he falls in love, comes to terms with his older brother’s suicide, suffers heartbreak from cruelty served upon his beloved younger sister, and stands up to his distant father (played by Pierce Brosnan). In a classic and well-executed arc, we see his character grow and change (as Tyler also changes the lives of those around him) before meeting a tragic end.

For some international fans who first got to know the actors through the Twilight franchise, the only opportunity to see some other films comes only with the release of the DVD. The Twilight films themselves have enjoyed widespread theater showings in the mainstream, but many other films—particularly independent films such as “Remember Me” and “The Runaways” were not immediately accessible to international fans.
