Chris Brown breaks down during his tribute to Michael Jackson

HollywoodNews.com: This past week has been filled with more Michael Jackson tributes than we can count to celebrate the one year anniversary of his death. However, Chris Brown finally got his chance to pay homage to the “King of Pop” during a tribute melody at the BET Awards.

His standing ovation performance ran through the songs “The Way You Make Me Feel,” “Billie Jean,” and then ended with “Man in the Mirror.” Brown swooned his way through Jackson’s signature moves and gave it his all on stage. During the last track, Brown choked up and started bursting into tears so much that he had a hard time finishing the track.

Considering the Awards didn’t have enough time to do a tribute last year, it’s safe to say that Brown pulled through and made everyone proud.

What did you think of his performance?

I was crying as well. MJ was and is Chris’s idol and mentor. Chris is the closest to some of MJ’s dance moves but there is only ONE MJ. you can imitate but you cant duplicate. BET did a great job on honoring and showing respect to one of our own which is MICHAEL JACKSON, our black brother.

I bet MJ was looking down watching and giving one of those MJ smile. As a fan of MJ, thank you Chris. I smiled and cried too. It’s been a year but it’s still hard to believe he’s gone.
