Kanye West gives riveting performance at BET Awards

HollywoodNews.com: Kanye West lost a lot of fans when he jumped on stage and grabbed the microphone from Taylor Swift as she was giving her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. However, in his first performance since the event, he has proved that despite his personality, he does have talent.

He opened the BET Awards with his new single, “Power,” from his upcoming untitled album. He took the stage alone on top of a mountain and finished without any words, which was probably a wise choice. The song boasted powerful lyrics stating, “I just needed time alone with my own thoughts. Got treasures in my mind/ But couldn’t open up my vaults/ … Reality is catching up with me/ Taking my inner child/ I’m fighting for custody.” It was obvious this performance was all about Kanye, his thoughts, and the music.

It looks like Kanye just needed some time off to find himself again.
