Kristen Stewart tells David Letterman about her pet wolves

By Kim Palacios

HollywoodNews.com: David Letterman’s June 28th interview with Kstew was already shaping up to be pretty weird—then he pulled out pictures of her family’s pet wolves. “I’m going to assume there’s an unbelievable story to tell about these,” said the talk show host as he pulled out the first of three photographs of her pet wolf hybrids taken at Stewart’s family home. As it turned out, there was.

“This is my pet. This is Jack. He’s our oldest male,” explained the star calmly as the camera got a close-up of a ferocious-looking beast. “I know he looks kind of scary—he’s a wolf. But he’s really sweet. He, like falls at my feet.”

Letterman pressed on, asking where she got the wolf. The star revealed the pet had been purchased in Florida and went on to explain . “It’s my mom’s deal…maybe it was a bit of empty nest syndrome, she needed to raise more children ‘cause they really are, like hard to take care of and she had experience before.”

As the star kept on about raising dog-wolf hybrids, Letterman advanced to the next picture taken at the family home—what appeared to be a different wolf standing next to what the host referred to as “dismembered, bloody bones”. A final photo showed Stewart cuddling one of her pets while sitting inside on a couch.

The conversation ended on a serious note when Stewart and Letterman chatted about the politics of wolf-hunting in order to protect populations of other herd animals. Concluded Stewart, who was against the hunting of wolves, “I’ll take them—they can just come live in my backyard.”

I think Kristen handled herself tremendously well considering Dave only played off her uncomfortableness for his own benefit, trying to crack wolf jokes the whole time.
