Roger Federer loses before the finals for the 1st time since 2002

By Greg Hernandez

HollywoodNews.com: CHAMPION FALLS: For the first time since 2002, Roger Federer has lost before the finals of Wimbledon! The six-time champion lost to Thomas Berdych in four sets earlier today in a shocking result that has people wondering about the future of the man many consider the greatest tennis player of all time.

With the loss, Federer will drop to No. 3 in the ATP rankings next week for the first time since Nov. 10, 2003. He has not won a tournament since the Australian Open in January and was clearly devastated by the loss.

Also devastated is sure to be Andy Roddick who has lost to Federer four times at Wimbledon but came close to victory in last year’s classic five-set final. Roddick finally could have avoided Federer but he himself lost in the fourth round.
