Melissa Etheridge files legal documents to end relationship
HollywoodNews.com: Melissa Etheridge and her partner Tammy Lynn Michaels registered as domestic partners back in 2003. However, things aren’t so good on the home front and Etheridge has just filed legal documents to end the relationship.
She filed a Petition for Dissolution of Domestic Partnership in the L.A. County Superior Court, reports TMZ. The document cites that they are splitting because of “irreconcilable differences.” They also report that she is requesting joint custody of their two children.
The couple tried to legally get married in 2008 when same-sex marriages were permitted in California, but they missed the window before it was pulled.
