Kendra Wilkinson weathered darker days with drugs, stripping

HollywoodNews.com: After some rainy days in her life, Kendra Wilkinson feels “safe” with her family.

Wilkinson revealed that prior to her stint at the Playboy Mansion, she experimented with drugs and held down a job as a stripper.

“I wasn’t a druggie stripper. I was a very good person doing it. [But] I was kind of still embarrassed about it,” she clarifies.

“I always knew that it was wrong. [But] the drugs and everything, that’s what found me and accepted me,” she says, explaining that her behavior came from a painful place when she had to cope with her father leaving the family.

Wilkinson was speaking on Tuesday’s “Today Show” and People was listening to the broadcast.

“I kind of lost myself for a little bit,” the reality star, 25, said. She was on TV to discuss her book “Sliding Into Home.”

However, soon Wilkinson looked in the mirror and saw that the junky life she was leading, wasn’t good. “It took a while,” she says about getting life back on track, “a good couple of weeks to think about, okay, the time is coming. I don’t know when yet. [But] this isn’t me.”

Earlier in the year, a sex tape from Wilkinson’s earlier years surfaced.

“I’ve been through a lot. I’ve gotten through it,” she says. “I’m home, where I’ve always wanted to be.”
