Jay-Z slams rumors of Illuminati affiliation on ‘Free Mason’
HollywoodNews.com: “I said I was amazing/ Not that I’m a Mason / I’m on my third six, but a devil I’m not,” raps Jay-Z on Rick Ross’s new track “Free Mason” in an impassioned defense against persistent accusations of involvement with freemasonry and the supposed occult connection of secret societies known as the Illuminati. The highly-anticipated collaboration track, which also features John Legend, premiered on Miami’s 99 Jamz by DJ Khaled and hit the internet late last night.
Hov goes on to further defend his spirituality in the song with, “Rumors of Lucifer, I don’t know who to trust / The whole world wants my demise, turn the music up / …Go to hell, this is God engineering.”
According to some conspiracy theorists, the Illuminati boasts membership of most of the world’s rich and powerful–Jay-Z included, along with Lady Gaga, who herself incorporates masonic imagery into her work, as Jay has often been accused of doing–and controls world affairs behind the scenes. It has connotations, for many, with devil worship and satanic symbols. “Free Mason” is a direct response to the most recent rumors of occultism in the video for “On to the Next One.”
Ross’s full album “Teflon Don” releases on July 20.
