JLo pulls out of Cyprus tour stop, faces $40 million lawsuit
HollywoodNews.com: Jennifer Lopez canceled a tour date at a Cyprus hotel and now she’s facing a $40 million lawsuit.
Apparently, the singer-actress was under the impression that there was a war going on in the vicinity and decided to pull out.
Lopez was scheduled to open the Cratos Premium hotel in the Turkish-occupied territory on July 24, but it stirred a controversy amongst Greek Cypriots in the south of the divided nation.
A Lopez spokesperson told TMZ: “Jennifer Lopez would never knowingly support any state, country, institution or regime that was associated with any form of human rights abuse.
“After a full review of the relevant circumstances in Cyprus, it was the decision of management to withdraw from the appearance. This was a team decision that reflects our sensitivity to the political realities of the region.”
Digital Spy covered the story.
