Sela Ward to play an “experienced investigator” on ‘CSI: NY’

HollywoodNews.com: Yesterday we reported that Melina Kanakaredes had stated that she was going to be leaving “CSI: NY” and that Sela Ward was already in talks to replace her.

Well, the network didn’t waste any time, because CBS has confirmed that they’ve tapped the Emmy winner to fill the spot. Ward will play ““an experienced investigator from Washington, D.C., whose work is driven by her empathy for the victim,” reports Entertainment Weekly. Her first appearance will be in the season premiere this fall.

Ward said, “I am thrilled to be working with Gary [Sinise] and this terrific group of people. I’m a huge fan.”
