Bristol Palin, Levi Johnston engaged — again

HollywoodNews.com: Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston have made up and are getting engaged.

The announcement came today on the cover of US Weekly.

Their parents had no idea that the couple made a promise to each other two weeks ago.

Palin is the daughter of 2008 vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

“It felt right, even though we don’t have the approval of our parents,” said Bristol Palin.

Palin and Johnston, both 20, had a baby boy together, Tripp, who is now 18 months old.

The couple had a highly publicized break-up following the birth of Tripp. They have been engaged once before. Johnston did some crazy things in the wake of their break-up, i.e. posing for a nude photo shoot for Playgirl and speaking out on Sarah Palin’s inadequacies as a potential U.S. president.

“It is intimidating and scary just to think about what her reaction is going to be,” said Bristol, “Hopefully she will jump on board.”

Sarah and Todd Palin issued a joint statement on the Today show on Wednesday morning.

“Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. We obviously want what’s best for our children,” the statement said. “Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives.”
