‘Glee’ creator Ryan Murphy: No sex scenes on this show
HollywoodNews.com: If you’re looking for sex on TV, it’s not likely to happen on “Glee.”
This has always been a concern for the show’s creator Ryan Murphy, particularly in regards to the characters of Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith).
Speaking to TV Guide, Ryan Murphy exclaimed, “We are a family show and I don’t want the lead actress to jump into bed with the quarterback. I would hope that would take years to accomplish, and I think it will.”
Also, don’t look for the naked upper halves of glee coach Will (Matthew Morrison) and guidance advisor Emma (Jayma Mays).
“We’re dealing with a guidance counselor who has extreme OCD issues,” Murphy explained. “The great television romances, if you look at them, the way to develop the sexual romantic tension, you have to string it out.”
Murphy has previously expressed that he has a strict rule among cast members: No sex while you’re on the “Glee” set, in your trailers.
“Glee” returns for its second season on September 21 on Fox.
