Jennifer Love Hewitt discusses how she got herself back in shape

HollywoodNews.com: Jennifer Love Hewitt sizzled on “The Tonight Show,” revealing her killer cleavage and telling Jay Leno that she was inspired to get fit after some less than flattering pictures of her appeared in U.S. celebrity magazines.

The 31-year-old “Ghost Whisperer” star called the pictures a ‘wake-up call’. She has now been voted as having one of the ’50 Most Amazing Bodies’ by “People” magazine.

“A couple of years ago, there was a photo debacle situation where they ran some unfortunate photos so they made it up to me,” Love Hewitt said of the award. “They were calling me fat and I really wasn’t – I was a little out of shape. It was a good wake-up call for me.”

The actress – who is single after breaking up with comedian Jamie Kennedy in March – said she was worried about getting fit too quickly as she didn’t want to appear to be bowing to pressure. She said: “The problem was if I started working out right then, people would be like, ‘She feels sad for herself so she’s working out.’ “So it was like, ‘do I work out or not work out’ – then it made me hungry. So I finally got myself together and went into the gym – it’s a hard thing to do. I got a trainer and said, ‘let’s do it’.”

But the actress admitted she wasn’t exactly a natural in the gym. “I tried wearing high heels on the treadmill,” she said. “I thought it would help my butt but it really didn’t – I ended up hurting my back!”
