Mark Ronson wants to be taken seriously, starts “tough” band called ‘The Business International’

HollywoodNews.com: Music producer Mark Ronson says he’s leaving the celebrity party world behind so he can be treated as a serious musician.

Ronson, 34, is releasing new material under his band’s name ‘The Business International’ to be taken more seriously.

He told UK newspaper the Daily Star: “Some people might have seen my lifestyle in magazines and thought: ‘Oh, he just DJs at lame celeb parties’. But most of the time it is work. It’s great work, but still working. I spend 14 hours a day doing this s**t, so I mean business. That’s how the band came about. There’s also something about it being a bunch of serious individuals. On my last album, Version, I was playing most of the instruments myself except for the horns.”

He added: “This new album was four or five of us going to the studio every day, a real collective effort. I wanted that to be represented by the title. I didn’t want ‘Mark Ronson And The Laptops.’ I liked ‘The Business’ because it sounded strong and tough. And we had to add ‘International’ as there was another band called The Business.”
