Janis Joplin fans respond to news of Amy Adams biopic casting

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Will Amy Adams really play Janis Jopin in a rumored biopic of the iconic singer?

We’ll believe it when we see it. So many actresses have been linked to a Joplin picture over the years. At one point, Renee Zellweger was planning to step on stage as the “Me and Bobby McGee” singer. Zooey Deschanel has been attached to a Joplin film for years, though recently declared that the picture is pretty much dead. And now Deadline states “Doubt” and “Enchanted” star Adams is the latest to sign her name to a potential Joplin flick.

Fans already disagree. Posting on SheWired.com, editors say “we’re not the least bit sold on her playing Janis, but we will print a retraction if she pulls it off!” Commenters to the article weighed in with various “hell no” and “Nooooooo!!!!”

Our suggestion? Cast “American Idol” runner up Crystal Bowersox in the part. She has the look, as well as the voice. It’s can’t be any worse than “From Justin to Kelly,” right?

What about that girl who played in Across the Universe she even played a character referring to Janis so she would be perfect and she had the same exact voice attitude and looks she would be like her twin.

Do you mean Evan Rachel Wood? She certainly has the talent to pull it off.
