Tom Felton Added to Cast for “Rise of the Apes”

HollywoodNews.com: My goodness, Tom Felton is staying busy post-Harry Potter! In addition to his new record deal, it was announced via 20th Century FOX’sTwitter account that he will join the cast of Caesar: Rise of the Apes, playing the son of Brian Cox’s character, who is the co-owner of an ape facility.

Felton will join a strong cast; in addition to Cox (X2, Braveheart), cast members include James Franco (Spider-Man trilogy), Frieda Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire), Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings trilogy), and John Lithgow (“Dexter”, Shrek).

Caesar: Rise of the Apes will be an origin story prequel to the popular Planet of the Apes franchise, and will take place in present-day San Francisco. The premise is that an experiment in genetic testing ends up going completely wrong, with consequences no one expected.

Caesar: Rise of the Apes is due in theaters July 24, 2011.
