Lindsay Lohan appears in official “Machete” photo on Dutch Web site

By Sean O’Connell It’s been so long since we spoke of Lindsay Lohan for her work — you know, acting — as opposed to her legal troubles. Yet with Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete” hitting theaters in the fall, we’re starting to see more and more promotional materials, some of which include Lohan acting. Imagine that.

Earlier this week, it was a suggestive teaser poster, which showed Lohan — in a nun’s outfit — licking a massive gun. Today, the European fan site has an actual photograph of Lohan packing an arm cannon and looking, well, confused. Check it here.

“Machete,” which stars Danny Trejo as a vengeful ex-Federale, is inspired by one of the bogus “Grindhouse” shorts. Because fans responded so enthusiastically, Rodriguez and co-director Ethan Maniquis, decided to expand it to feature length.

Good idea, or something that should have stayed a short? Hard to tell. Though Lohan’s undoubtedly thrilled to be part of a movie people will actually see. That happiness won’t last long, however. She’s supposed to report for her prison sentence on Tuesday.

If she fails to show up, the authorities should Trejo after her.
