‘Mission: Impossible 4′ greases its wheels, adds Simon Pegg to cast

HollywoodNews.com: Evidence that Paramount’s “Mission: Impossible 4” is moving forward: Simon Pegg is in talks to join the action film being directed by Brad Bird.

Pegg will reprise his role as lab geek Benji Dunn. Bird has been reading actors according to the Hollywood Reporter. The director is known for his animated work, i.e. “The Incredibles.”

Tom Cruise, as reported earlier, is returning as lead protag Ethan Hunt in a script by Andre Nemec, Josh Appelbaum and J.J. Abrams.

Pegg previously starred as Scotty in Abrams’ reboot of “Star Trek” last summer.

The actor can be seen at Comic-con this week where he’ll be tub thumping the Universal comedy “Paul” about two nerds who have an extraterrestrial close encounter while traversing the U.S. to a comic book convention.
