Lindsay Lohan’s Judge says “I have no idea how long the jail will keep her”

HollywoodNews.com: Lindsay Lohan was sent to jail today to begin a 90-day sentence for violating the terms of her probation, according to reports.

The 24-year-old actress was handcuffed and driven to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, following a 10-minute court hearing in Beverly Hills.

Judge Marsha Revel took just 10 minutes to remand Lohan into custody, but reportedly admitted that she did not know how much time the actress would spend behind bars. “I have no idea how long the jail will keep her,” Judge Revel told the court. “I don’t know about numbers.”

The former ‘Mean Girls’ star is expected to serve one-quarter of a 90-day sentence – 23 days – but could be released earlier if prison officials deem it appropriate. In August 2007, Lohan pleaded no contest to two counts of driving under the influence and two counts of being under the influence of cocaine.

She also pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge. She went to rehab for alcohol and substance abuse and served just 84 minutes of a 24-hour jail sentence. She was also placed on probation for 36 months and ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol-education programme, plus 10 days of community service.

But she missed seven of the alcohol-education classes earlier this year, which was deemed a violation of the terms of her probation. “It’s like somebody who cheats doesn’t think they’re cheating until they get caught,” said Judge Revel at a previous court hearing.
