Michael Lohan upset Lindsay is allowed to take prescription drugs in jail

HollywoodNews.com: Lindsay Lohan’s estranged father Michael Lohan has criticised the legal loophole that allows her to take prescription drugs in jail.

As the troubled actress begins her 90-day sentence for violating the terms of her probation, her outspoken dad said drugs were the cause of her problems. The 24-year-old former ‘Mean Girls’ star recently ‘tweeted’ that she didn’t want her father “anywhere near” her, that she was in a “great place” and that he brings “negativity” into her world.

But speaking on The Early Show, Michael said that she was hitting out at him because of the drugs and his attempts to get her off them. He told the CBS show: “First of all it hurts, but at the same time I realise this is coming from the girl I love and loves me. “She’s saying she is in a great place an I’m bringing negativity into her world – but she certainly wasn’t in a great place when she ‘tweeted’ that.”

He added: “We have been fighting to get her off prescription drugs and that’s the reason behind her tweets,” he continued.

“It’s like taking candy off a baby, when you take the candy away they start crying and identifying you as a person who’s taking something they like away.” It has been reported that Lohan, dubbed LiLo in the media, will be allowed to take prescription drugs including Adderall – a psychostimulant used to treat Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) – and sleeping-pill Ambien into jail, among others.

Michael’s lawyer Lisa Bloom said: “[It’s] a giant loop hole… Why is it if somebody’s problem is prescription drugs, they can take that problem with them even in jail?”
