What’s driving Ashton Kutcher to do the master cleanse?

By Dr. Bradley Frederick Seems Ashton Kutcher was in a car accident on Thursday rear-ending another car in his Lexus Hybrid while driving in Malibu. Taking to his Twitter he wrote “Got in a fender bender today. Bad carma (sic) I guess.” Maybe it is bad karma (or “car”-ma as the case may be) but if he was still on the Master Cleanse it could be something entirely different.

The body is an amazing machine, however when doing an intense detox/diet, there can be serious side effects, including the possibility of death, if the prescribed diet is not followed properly.

The lemon water with Maple syrup is used throughout the day to keep the blood sugar levels from dropping. Hypoglycemia, also called low blood glucose or low blood sugar, occurs when blood glucose drops below normal levels. Glucose, an important source of energy for the body, comes from food or in the Master Cleanse from the maple syrup.

The symptoms of low blood sugar include confusion, clumsiness, or fainting. Severe hypoglycemia can lead to seizures, coma, and even death.

So fair warning to Mr. Kutcher and anyone else embarking on this kind of diet: be careful, closely monitor yourself and how you are feeling, don’t tweet and drive, and objects in the mirror (and in front of you) are closer than they appear.
