Carey Mulligan confirms she is not getting a ‘Dragon Tattoo’

HollywoodNews.com: Carey Mulligan has made it official that she’s out of the running for the lead Goth femme part of Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s U.S. reboot of Swedish hit “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.”

Speaking to EW, Mulligan exclaimed that she is not getting the part: “I can officially quash that rumor once and for all. It’s not going to be me. But I’m excited to see it. I love the books and I think it will be great.”

Mulligan’s next two films are “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” and “Never Let Me Go.”

In late April, the London Times headlined that Mulligan was a shoe-in for the part, winning thumbs up from Fincher. The paper stated that Mulligan was set to pull in a $15 million paycheck for the trilogy.

The finalists for the role of Salander are Lea Seydoux, Emily Browning, Sophie Lowe, Sarah Snook and U.S. actress Rooney Mara.
