Teaser trailer, 3-D poster arrive for final “Saw” film

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: There aren’t a lot of places left to go with the “Saw” franchise, so a move into the 3-D realm — which has been swallowing the horror genre for decades — would be considered inevitable.

Yesterday, Bloody Disgusting was given the exclusive 3-D poster for “Saw 3-D,” which arrives in theaters in October. Feast your eyes on their rotating eyeball here.

And now today, thanks to Comic-Con in San Diego, a trailer is making its way to the Internet. According to the teaser, this will be the final installment in the reliable horror series. Lionsgate handed the new clip over to IGN, which posted it on their Web site. View it here.

Admittedly, I stopped watching the “Saw” films a while back. So I have no idea who is torturing whom. But I know this current go-round of three-dimensional imagery seems to be on the downswing, so “Saw 3-D” might be one of the nails in the disorienting technology’s coffin.

Knowing the “Saw” team, that would probably be their preference.
