Casey Affleck served $2 million lawsuit for sexual harassment
Statement on behalf of Flemmy Productions and Casey Affleck
The allegations brought upon our clients are preposterous and without merit. Ms. White was terminated from the production over a year ago. She and her lawyers believe that this maliciously and erroneously filed complaint will cause the producers to succumb to her outrageous and baseless demands. She is mistaken. The complaint will be vigorously defended and cross-claims will be filed against her.

HollywoodNews.com: Producer, Amanda White, who apparently was working on Affleck’s upcoming documentary about Joaquin Phoenix has served him a $2 million lawsuit claiming that “she was subjected to lurid sexual harassment and denied her producing fee after she refused to spend the night in a hotel room with him,” reports The Hollywood Reporter. They also report that she was allegedly forced “to endure debauched behavior” during production which included “uninvited and unwelcome sexual advances in the workplace” and an “impromptu shoot in a Las Vegas hotel room filled with hookers and transvestites.”
White claims that she orally agreed to $50,000 for her producer credits and “on one occasion, Affleck instructed a crew member to take off his pants in order to show [White] his penis, even after [White] objected. Affleck repeatedly referred to women as ‘cows;’ he discussed his sexual exploits and those of other celebrities that he allegedly witnessed; and asked [White], after learning her age, ‘Isn’t it about time you get pregnant?'”
After Affleck arranged a personal photo shoot with approximately 35 prostitutes that involved White and the cinematographer Magdalena Gorka, White expressed to Affleck that she was upset and would stop the film if she “didn’t get her $50,000 producing deal in writing.” Shortly after the production’s attorney got involved and when White realized she wasn’t going to get paid, she quit.
The complaint alleges, “Affleck refused to compensate [White] as agreed because she objected to his harassing and abusive conduct, and because she refused to share his hotel room during the shoot in San Francisco. Affleck encouraged and participated in the harassment of [White] and Gorka for his own twisted gratification; indeed, on information and belief, virtually none of the acts complained of herein are contained in the film that will be shown to the public.”
