Eric Bana’s famous “castle” for rent
HollywoodNews.com: It was home to Eric Bana when it featured in the classic Aussie movie ‘The Castle’ – now it’s available for rent at AUD$300 a week.
It might not look it, but this bungalow in Melbourne is one of the most famous in Australia thanks to it featuring in the 1997 film.
In it, a family battle to save their home from developers who want to extend Essendon Airport, which it borders. Eric Bana, in his first starring role, played the oldest son of fellow Aussie actor Michael Caton.
Planes still roll past the windows just a few hundred yards away, but owner Vicki Cosentino thinks she should have no problem renting it out.
Vicki bought the house in 1993 for AUD$94,000 and it is now worth an estimated AUD$650,000. She said: “It’s a great family home with a lot of land. The planes aren’t much of a problem and living there is a chance to experience some genuine movie history.”
