Robert Rodriguez promises Comic-Con crowds another Predator film

By Sean O’Connell Did Nimrod Antal’s “Predators” make enough money to justify a sequel?

That seems to be the plan of “Predators” producer Robert Rodriguez, who told a Comic-Con crowd gathered to learn more about the director’s “Machete,” that they will be returning to the world of Predators for … get this … a bigger, badder installment.

“We (wanted to) see what the appetite was (with this first film), because the bigger movie would actually be what comes following that,” Rodriguez said, according to Cinema Blend. “That kind of sets up a new storyline, new location and world, and then you can really go crazy from there.”

Counting against it? “Predators” has only made $42.9 million during its summer run. In its favor? Rodriguez tends to keep expenses down, so a sequel might not be a bank-breaker for 20th Century Fox, which cut a few checks to make “Predators” happen.
