Sir Bob Geldof receives honorary degree from UK University
HollywoodNews.com: Sir Bob Geldof has received an honorary degree from the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury.
The 58-year-old anti-poverty activist was given an honorary Master of Arts at the university in Kent for his contribution to arts and humanitarian work.
Speaking about the new award, he said: “It’s great to also receive recognition from UCA for the creative work that I’ve been doing for the past 35 years. I live up the road [in Faversham], so to be recognised by a local university, in the region that I love, adds even greater significance for me. I wouldn’t have accepted this award if it didn’t mean anything to me.”
