Del Toro NOT directing “Haunted Mansion” but is moving on to horror

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: As news flies out of Comic-Con at a furious rate, certain things can get mixed up. So here’s a bit of clarification.

Guillermo Del Toro, famed director who abandoned “The Hobbit” for projects unknown, will NOT be directing that “Haunted Mansion” for Disney. He’s merely acting as the writer/producer on the project, a fact that was confirmed by a Disney press release.

So what film will Del Toro next direct? He told attendees at the “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” panel at Comic-Con that it will be another horror project, but he declined to provide details, according to FirstShowing.net. He did reveal that he would begin filming it next May.
