Mark Ruffalo could be confirmed as The Hulk tonight at Comic-Con

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: We’ll know this evening which actor has been cast as The Incredible Hulk in Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers.” At least, we think we’ll know.

Marvel Studios issued a big, fat “no comment” when asked by HitFix if Mark Ruffalo has been signed for the part and will appear on stage alongside his mighty Marvel counterparts during this evening’s Comic-Con panel. It has been believed that the studio wants its complete ensemble — which includes Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Chris Evans and Captain America — to take the stage at Comic-Con.

It would be photoworthy, if not exactly newsworthy. Rumors about Ruffalo replacing former Hulk Ed Norton have been running rampant pretty much ever since HitFix broke the story that Norton was out as “The Avengers” rolled on.

If Ruffalo takes the gig, and makes the stage, expect Twitter to explode in real-time as reporters, fans, and overall geeks look to spread the word this evening from San Diego.
