HollywoodNews.com: Those of us not lucky enough to witness the pop culture mecca of Comic-Con firsthand this week can at least take some solace in the fact that all the juicy panel tidbits are being consistently reported back to us. We’ve already seen the stunning Comic-Con “True Blood” preview, and now MTV gives us the scoop on the upcoming second season of our other favorite vampire show, “The Vampire Diaries” along with some hilarious bloopers.

All three of the players in the show’s vamp-human-vamp love triangle have some interesting thoughts on their characters. Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore), readily admits (to deafening cheers), “I take my clothes off all the time,” but his favorite scenes to play are those with “the fun, nutty kind of Damon…the nice Damon freaks me out. I don’t know how to do it well.” Series creator Kevin Williamson says simply that the question of whether Damon will revert to his old ways or continue on a path of redemption now that Katherine’s back won’t be “the easy answer,” and in any case, Somerhalder refuses to judge his character, saying only, “It’s an interesting journey.”

Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) fielded questions on which vampire kisses best with a statement that no fangirl could disagree with: “I’m the lucky one. I get to make out with them both.” She went on to muse about the appeal of each of the Salvatore brothers, saying, “Stefan is very attractive because he is protective and loves Elena unconditionally. And Damon is very attractive because he’s fun and spontaneous. Paul is a down to earth, fun, chill guy. Ian is exactly like his character.”

For his part, Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore) has plenty of ideas as to where Stefan should go next, from joining a traveling circus to “indulging in the blood,” and says in all seriousness, “I’d love to do a flashback of Stefan in the 1980s dancing and having fun.”

“Vampire Diaries” returns in September–and if the leaked preview clip from the panel is any indication, fans are in for one bloody amazing ride.
