Daniel Radcliffe Offers Apology to Comic-Con Attendees
HollywoodNews.com: In a statement that shows once again how classy the stars of the Harry Potter franchise are, Daniel Radcliffe offered an apology for his non-attendance at this past weekend’s Comic-Con, even though he was never scheduled to attend.
“I apologize to all the wishful thinkers for my disappointing non-presence,” he stated via telephone to the LA Times.
Media reports have been circulating stating that a large number of Harry Potter fans who attended Comic-Con were highly disappointed by the absence of Radcliffe and fellow co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, even though none of them were ever confirmed to attend the four-day event. In fact, Warner Bros. made certain they emphasized the fact that no cast would be present at the event, at least until Tom Felton was confirmed to attend a mere three days prior. This information seems to have been disregarded, as fans lined up almost 15 hours in advance hoping that one or all of the trio would make a surprise appearance. Maybe next time the motto “expect the worst, but hope for the best” should be kept in mind?
