I am both a Harry Potter fan and a twihard and am very offended by that comment. What if I said Twilight is the best Harry Potter Sucks!!! How would you feel? I don’t think we have to have this constant rivalry between HP and Twilight. It’s just stupid. They are both forms of entertainment. Live with it.

Threre r millions of harry potter fans and only a few hundred get to see the footage. BULLSHIT! Thankyou so much for writing this article, hopefully Warner Brothers will notice how upset it’s Harry Potter fans are. On http://www.mugglenet.com there are almost 2500 comments about the footage that was shown at comic con. However most of the comments are not about the footage (which Im sure is great EVEN THOUGH I HAVENT SEEN IT!) the comments are comlaints about the footage not being released by Warner Brothers. I really think Warner Brothers takes it fanbase for granted. Without the fans they would have nothing, the fans have been loyal and dedicated from day 1 and I seriously think Warner Brothers has forgotten that..

In conclusion……….RELEASE THE FOOTAGE!!!

I understand that many fans are upset with WB right now but I won’t forget that there were many Twilight fans upset with Summit a few months ago because they felt they weren’t getting enough footage. Fans get upset and the studios have to deal with it. That’s the way it is.

To be completely honest though, I would take WB’s handling of the Potter franchise over the way Summit has handled the Twilight franchise. Summit continues to make the Twilight movies on a cheep budget and I feel it really shows in their movies. Their special effects and cinematography aren’t up to par with that of the Potter films. I think they may be putting forth more money towards Breaking Dawn though…so that may change. However, I would far rather have to wait to see the footage and have it be well done than have something slapped together in a mere few months and have it be less than what it could have been.

Give me a break. They don’t HAVE to release the footage. Most stuff at Comic-Con is exclusive anyway. Stop acting like they owe you stuff. They’ve given plenty in return, what with 6 movies already released. You’ll probably see a lot of this stuff when they release more trailers, anyway. I’d like to see the footage too, but to call their behaviour ‘disgusting’ just because they aren’t releasing a sneak-peak that was made for Comic-Con attendees is a complete exaggeration.

And, to the person who pointed out that the HP films are quite faithful to their source material compared to other book-to-movie adaptions, THANK YOU. It amazes me because all so many fans ever do is complain about every little change made from book to movie (even though this is the way it is with all book-to-film adaptions. Some stuff just don’t work on screen, get it through your head), and then act this way about the upcoming film.

Look, I’d LOVE to see the footage just as much as you guys, but I really think you’re coming across as whiny and ungrateful just because they’re not releasing ONE sneak preview.

I think that you are completely right about the way Summit Entertainment is doing things. I’m a fan of both of the franchises and I was one of the people scouring the internet after the footage was released at comic con and was very disappointed to find out that WB wasn’t going to release the footage online. I know they think that just because this franchise is such a staple that they don’t need to put out as many promotional images and videos, but, not doing so can hurt them. Like you mentioned above, fans are angry that they aren’t going to release the footage online and while people will still go see the movie when it releases it can decrease the likely hood of some people going out to the movie. They need to cater to what their fans want if they hope to keep them on good terms. Fans are what make this franchise and it would be nowhere without them. WB needs to remember this especially when they make a decision like this without any further explanation.

It’s kind of a slap in the face. We’ve all heard how amazing this footage is and WB needs to release this to us die-hard fans! I am a fan of Twilight (though it will never be as great as the Harry Potter franchise) and it’s true that Summit gives a lot of clips to it’s fans. It’s obviously very important to us, so please give us the footage!!

The footage will no doubt be released eventually, because the films is still 4 months away. And WB did say the footage was exclusive to Comic-Con. However, it’s not really fair that everything else (Sucker Punch, Green Latern, etc) that was shown at Comic-Con was released online and the Harry Potter footage was not. I’m not mad at them. I’m just a really MASSIVE Harry Potter fan and it’s really hard to read all these amazing things about this footage, but not be able to see it. It’s TORTUROUS!!!
