Jason Isaacs Talks About His Career, Role as Lucius Malfoy
HollywoodNews.com: Jason Isaacs has always been one of those actors who has that kind of rare, fun love-hate appeal for his fans: we love to hate the characters he plays but at the same time, we can’t help but love the deliciously evil way in which he plays them. From the moment he opens his mouth onscreen, we know that nothing but brilliant evilness is to be expected.
When speaking of his career and various co-stars, however, Isaacs seems down-to-earth, humble and very complimentary of the people he has had the opportunity to work with. In this interview with UK site Metro.co.uk, he speaks about his experiences throughout his acting career, gives praise to his Abduction co-star Taylor Lautner, and of how he’ll “be Lucius Malfoy until the last job I do”.
I never had a middle name before, but I’ll be Jason ‘Lucius Malfoy’ Isaacs until the last job I do. I’ve been doing it for ten years. It’s like going back to a favourite holiday destination. Sitting around listening to Michael Gambon, Maggie Smith, Julie Walters and Alan Rickman tell stories about their careers is fantastic, people would pay for that. I’m heartbroken it’s finished.
Isaacs is currently filming the movie Abduction, which stars Twilight hottie Taylor Lautner as a young man who looks into the history of his past after he discovers his photo on a missing children’s website. It is scheduled for release sometime in 2011.
