Miley Cyrus and other stars speak out against Facebook

HollywoodNews.com: What with the insane popularity of Facebook as it recently celebrated its 500 millionth user and with the upcoming movie, some celebrities are speaking out against the site and those who are using it.

Miley Cyrus, a former social media lover, recently heard about a 13-year-old girl who was kidnapped by a man who used sites like Facebook to get access to her, reports theEword. Cyrus is now reportedly telling kids, “[D]on’t go on the internet. It’s not fun – it’s dangerous.”

George Clooney is also speaking out against the site after fans set up a page under his name. “I’d rather have a prostate exam live on TV given by a guy with very cold hands than have a Facebook page,” Clooney said about his interest in the social networking site.

Makes you wonder if they’ll be invited to the premiere.

l’m a huge fan of miley’s.& always will be.This is one of the many reasons l love miley, because she is a loving ,caring person, who is clearly concerned for young children on these so called social sites.l personally blame the likes of facebook, for thinking more of the number of ppl they have on there, than to ensure little kids safety.l mean l go on there,& there must be at least 10 miley’s,that l know of.The ppl behind facebook should make sure that this is the real miley,& if they’re not, then they are deleted.Because l feel sure that if young kids looking for the likes of miley, knew the real miley didn’t go on there, they might stop looking for her,or other celebs,on facebook.
Thnx so much miles, for just being you,& for caring enough about young children,to make a stand.Ur wonderful.God bless,& hope ur having a blast on the set of “LOL”.XXX
