Rare Captain America and Thor props steal the show at Comic-Con

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: The superhero news that has gushed out of San Diego thanks to this year’s Comic-Con gathering should slow to a steady trickle on the coming days. But before the good scoops dry up completely, Marvel had two good sneak peeks to share with fans.

In the Marvel Studios booth sat Captain America’s shield and the Infinity Gauntlet from Thor. Both props reportedly were the ones used on the sets of Joe Johnston and Kenneth Branagh’s films, respectively. Great photos of each can be found at ComingSoon.net.

Now we’re hoping that the teaser footage for “Captain America” and “The Avengers” finds its way online. Neither gives too much away, though I am anxious to see Chris Evans in the stars-and-stripes. As for “Thor,” a healthy amount of footage was cut together to create a trailer, and I really hope that’s online by the end of the week.

As if you needed to be reminded, “Thor” comes out May 6, 2011, while Captain America” follows on July 22 of that same summer.
