“Sucker Punch” trailer arrives online riding wave of Comic-Con buzz
By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: “Sucker Punch” was one of the films to emerge from San Diego’s Comic-Con with precious buzz. Footage screened for fans packed in Hall H received rave reviews, and earned a spot on our very own Todd Gilchrist’s list of the Top 5 Comic-Con moments. He called it “the most schizophrenically exciting footage the attendees would see all weekend.”
This morning, you can see what all of the hype is about. The first “Sucker Punch” trailer has been posted on the iTunes Movie Trailers page, and while it gives a great idea at what director Zack Snyder is going for, it holds back some of the footage screened at the Con. Exclusivity is still very important to Con attendees.
Still, this trailer sets up the story, which follows a young girl named Babydoll (Emily Browning) who is confined to a mental institution where she starts to dream of elaborate ways to escape.
Vanessa Hudgens, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino and Jamie Chung co-star alongside Emily Browning. Snyder will release “Sucker Punch” on March 25, 2011.
