Kara DioGuardi blindsided by ‘Idol’ firing

HollywoodNews.com: In more “American Idol” news, Kara DioGuardi is supposedly aghast over her cutback on the Fox show.

A source told Showbiz Spy: “Kara loved judging Idol. She’s horrified that she’s just being tossed aside like this.

“She understands the show is in need of a revamp, but Kara really thought she had a job for as long as she wanted it. She’s beside herself.”

DioGuardi will certainly bounce back. While “Idol” put her in front of the camera, she is an award-winning producer and songwriter having written 12 of the 13 tracks on Christina Aguilera’s “Back to Basics” album as well as singles for Britney Spears.

As a Warner Bros. music talent executive, DioGuardi signed Jason Derulo.
