Kara DioGuardi voted off ‘Idol,’ Aerosmith’s Tyler is up for the job

HollywoodNews.com: “American Idol,” like many companies during the recession, is cleaning house.

Kara DioGuardi is out as one of the judges and Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler is rumored to take her place.
“Idol” producers are shaking up the judges’ table in an effort to boost ratings, particularly with Simon Cowell’s departure.

TMZ.com nailed the news that Fox is on the verge of closing deals with Tyler and Jennifer Lopez as judges. Both will join Randy Jackson for a three-judge panel for the show’s 10th season. “Idol” airs in January.

On Thursday, Ellen DeGeneres sent shock waves on Twitter when she announced her departure from the show.

Cowell, who has been with the show since its 2002 inception, is planning to launch another music competition show “The X Factor.”
