Randy Jackson avoids ‘Idol’ axe-tion

HollywoodNews.com: Randy Jackson came very close to being fired on “American Idol” in the latest round of judge beheadings.

However, “Idol” producers wanted to keep some familiarity on the panel, hence they spared Jackson.

Jackson is the only “Idol” judge from the series 2002 start to remain and the only judge of the four who served last season: Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres departed while Kara DioGuardi was axed.

The question remains whether there will be a fourth judge or not in the wake of Jennifer Lopez’s rumored hiring and Steven Tyler’s negotiations.

TMZ caught the buzz.

I love Randy, he’s fair, fun to watch, and honest. I love his laugh, it’s very contagious. Kara played off of Randy so well, it is a HUGE MISTAKE to let her go. Kara, I will miss you…in fact, I may not watch the show without you. xoxo
