New Details On Michael Gambon’s “Doctor Who” Role

HollywoodNews.com: A few weeks ago it was reported that Michael Gambon would be appearing in an episode of popular the popular British sci-fi show “Dr. Who“.

New details have emerged concerning Gambon’s character. According to a synopsis posted on a Doctor Who blog, Tardis Spoilers, Gambon plays a character named Kazran:

A local of the ‘Victorian’ setting that the Doctor visits, the character is said to have had several encounters with the Doctor throughout his lifetime, much like Moffat’s other characters Amy Pond and Reinette (The Girl In The Fireplace) and will take the place of the ‘Scrooge’ character from A Christmas Carol, the story that the Christmas Special is said to be loosely based on.

The character is also going to be seen at various stages throughout his life within the episode, played by other actors, though whether these will be just flashbacks or the Doctor hopping timelines is as of yet unknown.

The Christmas episode of Doctor Who is scheduled to air on Christmas Day.

Gambon has had a highly successful career both in the States and abroad. He is currently most well-known for his role as Headmaster Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter franchise.
