Nicole Kidman observing damage in Haiti for United Nations work
HollywoodNews.com: Nicole Kidman has opened up about spending time away from her daughter to take a trip to Haiti.
The Hours star tells USA Today that she found it hard being away from her youngest child – two-year-old Sunday Rose – during a recent trip to promote women’s rights on the troubled island.
Speaking from Port-au-Prince the 43-year-old tells the newspaper: “I’ve spent two nights away from her in two years. I’m just so into her. Safety-wise I couldn’t bring her [here], but otherwise, she goes everywhere with me. We were walking through the tent cities today and it’s just rubble and tents.”
Kidman is in the Haitian capital as part of her work with the United Nations Development Fund for Women [UNIFEM]. The actress says that having a social conscience is a quality she and husband Keith Urban want to ingrain in their child.
Kidman’s next project is filming ‘Trespass’ opposite Nicolas Cage. The film is about a mother protecting her daughter. She says: “That speaks to me.”
