Charlize Theron joins up with ‘Juno’ team
HollywoodNews.com: “Juno” power team, director Jason Reitman and Oscar winning scribe Diablo Cody plan to film “Young Adult” with Charlize Theron in the lead.
Mandate snapped up Cody’s script in March, however, “Young Adult” marks Reitman’s first project since directing “Up in the Air.” Cody first worked with Reitman on “Juno,” and won an Oscar for original screenplay.
In “Young Adult,” Theron will play a thirtysomething, divorced, young-adult fiction writer who returns to her hometown to reclaim her ex-boyfriend, who is married with a child.
In addition to Reitman serving as a producer, John Malkovich’s production label Mr. Mudd will also be shepherding “Young Adult.”
Film is set to roll in mid-October in New York. Currently the film is being financed with independent money. It has yet to be handled by a studio.
Theron previously appeared in “The Burning Plain.”
