Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg bringing “Other Premiere” to St. Louis

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are coming to St. Louis this week. I wonder how long it will take before Ferrell is scaling the famous Archway in his tighty whiteys?

The Missouri metropolis won the right to host “The Other Premiere” this Thursday, Aug. 5 … days after the new comedy “The Other Guys” has its world premiere in New York City.

Wahlberg and Ferrell will attend the “Other Premiere,” which will be held at the Wehrenberg Chesterfield Galaxy, in Chesterfield, MO. The film opens in theaters nationwide the next day, Friday, Aug. 6.

St. Louis emerged victorious at the end of a three week, online vote to decide which city would host the red-carpet event. St. Louis edged out Atlanta and Dallas, to name just a few other cities that were in the race.

“Here are some interesting facts about St. Louis that I learned from Wikipedia,” said Adam McKay, director of “The Other Guys.” “It was founded in 1764. It has two nicknames — the Gateway to the West and the Mound City. There are 2,879,934 people in the Greater St. Louis metropolitan region, and Will and Mark are looking forward to meeting each and every one of them at The Other Premiere.”

“The Other Guys” opens everywhere on Aug. 6.
