Rumpled Joaquin Phoenix graces new “I’m Still Here” poster

By Sean O’Connell There’s that bearded, sunglassed, wild-haired man we remember so fondly.

Joaquin Phoenix graces the poster for Casey Affleck’s documentary “I’m Still Here,” which reportedly follows the esteemed actor on his downward spiral out of the Hollywood spotlight. Rumor says we’ll see Phoenix trying to launch a rap career. Maybe it will wash away the memories of his tragic late-night television appearances and public meltdowns.

Hopefully we’ll also learn if this is an avante garde prank cooked up by Affleck and Phoenix, and that the fantastic actor will return to his craft once “Here” has run its course. All will be revealed come Sept. 10, when “Here” opens.

Until then, there’s a disheveled Phoenix on this poster. And I’m telling you, it has made me more excited to see it than ever. Well played, Magnolia marketing team. Well played.
