Daniel Radcliffe Gets Candid in Out Magazine Interview

HollywoodNews.com: Daniel Radcliffe has always been quite chatty when it comes to interviews, and with filming of the “Harry Potter” movies at an end, nothing has changed. In this month’s OUT Magazine, Daniel has a very open interview with singer/songwriter Our Lady J in which they talk about Daniel’s support of the LGBT community, his stints on Broadway, and his first forays into the dating scene. Oh yeah, and that little movie he’s well known for.

The interview is quite detailed and intimate, as Daniel and Our Lady J – who is trans-gendered – are actual friends instead of just interviewer/interviewee, so the interview flows very freely and is very open. Daniel speaks of his work with The Trevor Project, which provides suicide-prevention services/hotline for LGBT teens; and how he thinks society’s view of the LGBT community is changing with the times. He also talks about how his most recent trip to L.A. is his first real trip to the area; his views on politics, what music he’s into now, and his love for Broadway and New York City:

I love the city as a whole, absolutely, but I love Broadway. And the community on Broadway is something that you hear talked about and talked about by other English actors who’ve been over there. And you think, Well, OK. How could it be that different or that much better? Because they make it sound amazing. And then you come to New York, and you actually experience [Broadway], and it is like nothing else. We were across the road from Gypsy when we did Equus, and we were constantly hanging out with them after the show, and it was fantastic. And we went and met with the cast from The Seagull and Black Watch a couple of times. It’s very, very hard to actually describe why New York is so brilliant. But the community is amazing, and if you get involved with all those events, and you show how much you love and appreciate being there, you really get nothing but generosity and kindness back.

You can read the entire interview in the September issue of OUT Magazine, or you can read it online here.
