Sylvester Stallone is the “Hollywood Movie Star of the Week”

By Anthony D’Alessandro

HollywoodNews.com: Movie stars are those legends who are always in sync with moviegoers’ tastes. Though we remember them for their highs, they’re the icons who are able to resurrect themselves at the box office again and again.

Like John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, Sylvester Stallone is timeless. After years of being a dormant action hero, Stallone’s star has risen once again. This weekend, the multi-hyphenate creative is poised to see his highest opening of all-time at the box office with ‘The Expendables.’ The Lionsgate film about a bunch of ragtag mercenaries is expected to pull in $35 million. And in a clear wink to the camera, indicating that the action stars of yore never die, they just get better with age; Stallone assembled the best of them from the last three decades for ‘Expendables.’

Before George Lucas and Marvel superhero films, Stallone was already on to the idea that audiences embraced franchises, particularly those that centered on triumphant champs, typically with guns and muscles, who overcome great odds.

We are pleased to announce Sylvester Stallone as the Hollywood Movie Star of the Week.

Goes with the hip hop territory. This does not surprise me. My thoughts is for his family.
