Angelina Jolie champions support for Pakistan flood victims
HollywoodNews.com: Angelina took time at the London premiere for “Salt” to champion support for Pakistan’s flood victims.
Despite all the natural atrocities that have occurred recently in the world such as the Haitian earthquake, Jolie urges people not to strain in their generosity. She is gravely concerned that the situation in Pakistan will get deadlier and worse.
“It is getting hard for people — they see Haiti, they see these other events … and they get exhausted by the time another big one rolls around,” says Jolie.
The floods have impacted 20 million, however, the current level of charity is down next to the donations for Haiti and the Asian tsunami.
As a U.N. goodwill ambassador, Jolie has visited Haiti and Iraq, however, she won’t enter Pakistan until “the cameras go away.”
